LIVE THE MISSION

We are not just about filling our heads with Bible knowledge or going on a spiritual high, nor only about working hard for our employers, the church or community organisations, good though those things can be. We are also about living out the stuff day by day in community house, in the everyday context in which you find yourself, and making sure you learn from the day to day trudge as much as everything else – we have a God who speaks… even about the washing up debates!

Jesus trained a group of twelve disciples, and when he sent them out he sent them in twos. In an individualistic culture, you will learn that the Christian life is corporate. Community living exposes parts of ourselves that we prefer to avoid.

We’ll work with you and your household on agreeing some principles and values you’d like to live out in your house, and you will have the opportunity to ask us all to hold you accountable about the challenges you face in the rest of your day to day life.

Alongside all of this each participant in the School for Disciples will have an older wiser member of one of the churches as a mentor to help you really reflect on all you are experiencing so that you can learn from them, not just file them!

We really believe that together we will be able to “spur one another on to love and good deeds” and work out what it means to live a Christian lifestyle which challenges some of the prevailing currents of our culture.
